Snort Pines, Not Lines: The Story Behind Our Piney Woods Tee
"Snort Pines, Not Lines" is an original Akicktion tee in The 229 Series. It puts a South Georgia longleaf pine forest inside our AK mark, printed big on the back of a Comfort Colors 1717 garment-dyed tee in Hemp, with a small cream AK on the front. The message is simple: the only rush worth chasing is a deep breath of the piney woods. It costs $38 for S–XL.

What does "Snort Pines, Not Lines" mean?
It's a play on words with a clear point. Instead of chasing a high, chase fresh air. Get outside, take a deep breath of pine, and keep your head clear. It's a little funny and a little serious, and that's why we built a shirt around it.
At Akicktion our tagline is "Lace up. Show up. Give back." Showing up starts with being clear-headed enough to do it. This tee says that without preaching.
The design: longleaf pines inside the AK
Like every tee in The 229 Series, the scene lives inside the AK. Here's what's in it:
- Longleaf pines standing tall and straight, with brushy green crowns up top and evening light glowing through the trunks
- A pine-straw floor with wiregrass growing through it
- Young pines in their grass stage, the tufted early stage when a young longleaf looks more like a clump of grass than a tree
- A gopher tortoise heading out of its burrow
- A little smoke drifting from a prescribed burn, the kind of controlled fire that helps keep longleaf woods healthy
It's not a generic forest. These are the details that make a South Georgia piney woods look like home, and we wanted anyone who has walked one to recognize it.
Why the piney woods?
The 229 Series is about places that feel like the 229, and pine woods are part of that. You pass them on the drive out of town, you hunt and hike in them, and you smell them on a warm evening. We already had rivers, springs, a canyon, a swamp, a depot and a pickleball court in the series. The woods were overdue.
The forest also fits the message. A walk in the pines is about as clear-headed as it gets.
The tee: Comfort Colors 1717 in Hemp
- Comfort Colors 1717 garment-dyed heavyweight tee, 100% ring-spun cotton, 6.1 oz/yd²
- Relaxed fit, twill-taped neck and shoulders, double-needle hems
- Big back print, small cream AK on the left chest
- Printed to order (DTG)
- Garment-dyed, so each tee's color varies slightly
- Sizes S–4XL: $38 for S–XL, $40 for 2XL, $42 for 3XL, $44 for 4XL
The earthy Hemp color sets off the pines without competing with them. Because the 1717 is garment-dyed, it already feels broken in when it arrives.
New to the Comfort Colors fit? Our fit guide compares it with the lighter Bella+Canvas 3001 we use on other designs.
How to wear it
It's a relaxed, heavyweight tee, so it works on its own on a warm day or under an open flannel when it cools off. Wear it on the trail, at the lake or around town. To keep the print looking good, wash it cold and inside out, tumble dry low, and don't iron the print.
Made to order, shipped in the US
Like everything we sell, the Snort Pines tee is printed after you order it. Production usually takes 2–7 business days, and most orders arrive about 3–7 business days after they ship. We currently ship to US addresses only. Read how printed-to-order works at Akicktion for the full rundown.
Snort pines, not lines. Get outside, breathe deep, stay clear-headed.
